I recently inherited a Optiplex 740 desktop version (not mt or sff) and for most of what I do it's more than adequate. But I would like to be able to play games (just casual games, no mmo games) with it, but the graphics card is not that great for gaming. My pc currently has NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE which is embedded in the motherboard. I don't want to spend a lot on this old pc and I've seen that I could add Radeon 5450 or 6450 or 7450 without putting out a lot of cash. My question is can I just pop in one of these cards without making any other changes or is there something else I would have to change to make the new card work?
If anyone can help, I'd certainly be appreciative. And I'm not really that tech savvy so please keep the answer simple.
AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, 2 GB memory

Solution
First uninstal NVIDIA driver, next disable embedded chip in Device Manager, next insert new card and attach monitor to the new card, boot and install new drivers, this is it.

Kisianik...Thanks for responding. Your answer is going to help me a lot. For someone like me who has limited knowledge of pc's, It's great to be able to come to a site like Tom's and get advice from people like you who know what they're doing.
