Hello all,
I just got the Sennheiser PC360 headset and I love it. I also bought the Asus Xonar DG sound card, thinking I was going to be able to use it. However, its only compatible with PCI slots, not PCIe so I need to return it, considering my Maximus Hero doesnt have that slot. I know the ROG boards have really good audio, so is it even worth buying the DGX, or should I buy something better? Price limit is ~50 for sound card, if anyone has suggestions.

Sound cards can be kind of personal. Some users do not like one while others may think it sounds great.

By the specs the onboard card you have should be very good.

And as more and more things go 100% digital(right upto the speakers, they are still analog, but can be run with pwm too) sound cards will not have much difference since most of these stats are for analog audio.
