Hi Guys
Im running a GA-p55a-ud3p mobo with a i5-760 with a coolermaster hyper 101 heatsink. No overclocking (albeit second hand gear).
I noticed the temperatures were high on the CPU but thought little of it. However, now even in low end gaming the CPU (according to realTemp) hits 99 degrees C straight away. Naturally I have had a dust clean out, reseated the heatsink with some new thermal paste (with a pea as per TH's directions) and finally, I decided to check through the bios to see if someone has cranked some weird voltage or something somewhere.
I reboot, press tab to get out of splash screen, press DEL key, and after post it just sits there and doesnt proceed either to OS or BIOS. weird. it has on occasion even registered that the DEL key is pressed and "prepare to enter bios" message appears, yet once post is complete it never progresses to the BIOS. I have flashed the bios to the latest version, no difference.
As I type, It's currently idling at 0-4% CPU usage and 62 degrees C, but operating normally.
Any Ideas?
Thanks Dan.
