Can I replace my existing 750gb sata internal HD -in other words-unplug the sata cables & plug the new ssd drive in it's place & then format the new ssd drive with win 7 64 bit? Then the new ssd drive will be my C:drive I guess. Can someone give me some advice on this. Gateway FX6800-01E i7-920 intel quad 12gb ddr3 ATI Radeon 7870 Pcie 2048mb. Also need to know if I could format existing 750gb hd for storage & other programs.

Yes to all your questions. But you may want to follow this guide for best results. If you don't do it properly, the SSD will write itself to an early death. At best, the drive will have poor performance.
