Gaming monitor 24" or 27"

Hey,

I bought a new PC using a Gtx 780.
I don't have a clue regarding monitor and its resolutions and the sort.
I'm currently on a 23.5" but I can't help but dislike the actual frame of the monitor. How is 27" for gaming and media? I sit more or less at an arms length away.

If I get 27", is it a waste to stick with 1080p? I don't even know what it means to change resolution or go higher, haha.

Physical monitor size means very little when it comes to performance. It's much more about the resolution. Most 24" to 27" monitors have resolutions of 1920x1080 or 1920x1200; really not that much difference. A single, high-end graphics card should be able to play most, if not all, games without issue. Higher end monitors will have much higher resolutions like 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 (and a much higher cost). These monitors would more than likely benefit from a dual-card (in your case, SLI) set up.

For a single card set up, just stay with the 1920x1080/1200 resolution monitors. What size you get is entirely up to you.
