Question about graphics card

Hi everybody. My brothers computer has been having issues lately so I told him I would take a look at it for him. I have been hovering around these forums for a while now and it seems like you all are a knowledgeable bunch of people. I took out his graphics card and upon close inspection I saw this on the underside. I don't know if maybe the card burned out somehow? Thats what it looks like to me but I am far from an expert. The card is an EVGA Geforce GTX 560. If you guys need any other information from me I'll try the best I can to get it to you. Thanks in advance for the help!

Like I said, it was in my brothers computer. I have no idea how it could have happened, he never overclocked anything. Have you guys seen anything like this before? What do you think could have caused it? He has played alot of video games on his machine but so have I and mine is still running just fine with a less expensive Raedon card...
