Power button not working

Just bought a new ASUS A88XM-A mATX motherboard as well as a A10-6800k CPU.
Got everything hooked up and ready to go, flipped the power switch on my Rosewill 650w PSU and the computer turned on and booted just fine. My problem is that the power button on the case does not seem to function at all. This button was never pressed to power up, it just powered up directly from the psu. Is there a BIOS setting for this? Or am I missing a connection on the motherboard itself?

I've double checked with the motherboards manual and from what I can tell yes it is. The front panel connector has 9 pins on it, 4 on top with a blank pin on the far right, and the bottom it has 5 pins. My connector itself has 4 sockets and a blank socket, so by process of elimination it would go on the top row.

The front panel connectors are not labeled in any way. It's just a single row plug (o,o,o,o,x), this is why i say process of elimination because there is only one way that it will connect. According to the manual i have it plugged in the correct spot. But still no power button function.

Here's a Diagram of my previous MOBO front side panel. Its exactly the same as the new MOBO. And yes the button worked with that mobo just fine lol. http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/mainboard-ipibl-lb-asus-power-switch-reset-switch-power-led-reset/

what you will have to do is trace the leads that go to tour power button and reset switch when you find the two that go to the power button mark them so you know what they are red will be positive , you will have two leads for each switch dont get them mixed up
when you know which one is power switch + and powerswitch ground or - you will be able to put them back in the connector using that link i gave you, look at pic pwr+ pwr- etc do you follow

Red/Black are the power switch, Green/blue went to reset switch. Cross checked the manual and the connector to make sure they were right and they were. But still no power button function.

you may have a faulty button, if they match even if they are wrong way round pwr+ and power- and you press the powerbutton in it should go , unless you have powerswitch on the powersupply off , try only those two pwr+ and pwr- and take out rest of connector wires , see if it will power

Ok i figured it out. Apparently there is a labeling issue on my Mobo. What is labeled as a frontside connector socket is actually a COM socket... After switching everything, it's working as it should be *phew*. I appreciate your time and effort in helping me solve this issue though.
