Trying to run my laptop and 2 external screens.

Im trying to run my laptop and 2 external screens from it, its an acer aspire 7741G, it has one VGA one HDMI output, either seem happy to run one screen and the laptop but but I can not get both external screens and the laptop running. its got a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470. can anyone help?

right , i'm assuming that your issue is that you are only able to operate 1 separate screen along with internal laptop screen , if you set the laptop display options to not turn the laptop to sleep mode when you close the lid , the second monitor will power up.
( this setting strangely under windows 7 are in the power options in control panel)

the reason for this is usually laptops are only capable of driving two screens of the internal GPU .

to get around this you will need to offload some of the output to a device such as
