Webcam isnt working

i installed windows 8 in my acer aspire one D270 and when i try to skype the video wont stop loading. I guess its not working but skype says that the webcam is working. I dont know what to do! please help

I have an Acer aspire too and windows 8. My web cam is also not working. However I think for me it is the actual camera that has broken down.If you go to the device manager (settings>control panel>Hardware and sound>Device manager from top right) then you can search your devices, likely under imaging devices to find your webcam and then see if the driver is up to date (ie right click and update). In my case I think the camera itself is broken since it was a little intermittent for a while then packed up completely. One more thing you could try: Go to start (windows special keyboard button) and start typing Acer, you will see an Acer Crystal Eye web cam app. See if this can help you. Doesn't for me since I think my cam really is broken.
