Laptop getting heated

Exactly!

Here's a few things to know along those lines
1) Laptop should be used on a hard flat surface so air can get to the bottom vent (intake) also the area around the side vent (exhaust) shouldn't be restricted
2) Use of a cooling pad can help keep temps under control especially during periods of intensive use
3) After a while* dust bunnies will form around the exhaust vent and block airflow - when that happens, disassembly and cleaning is the solution. There are "how-to" vids on YouTube for disassembly and cleaning for most model laptops, you might watch one (or more) to see if it is something you would want to do yourself.
