Hello!
I have got a motherboard with a Core2Duo E8500 and a friend of mine gave me a Q9400. This motherboard officialy does not support this CPU. I have updated BIOS to the latest version and I found around the internet that it supports it with some specific settings. So, I'd like to ask if it supports the CPU for sure and what settings I have to do before I install it?
Thank you a lot!

No, that motherboard does not officially support that processor and any modifications you make are done at your own risk.

That said, the only reason I can see why that processor would not be supported would be the higher Max TDP of 95watts. I would think if you could limit the Max TDP to 65watts; the same as the E8500, it would, in theory, work. Don't ask me how it make that change, I have no idea.
