So, my hard drive starts clicking/beeping when I turn it on however, it doesn't spin. The on light flashes though but that is about it. It used to spin up if I left it on for a couple of hours (so that probably didn't help the situation) but now it doesn't.
I've tried it with two other power adapters but they don't work at all, the wires get warm but the hard drive doesn't turn on. I tried getting an IDE to Sata adapter and putting it into my PC but again, the wires get warm but the hard drive won't turn on; it seems to only come on with the original power supply.

I was going to get a new PCB and try that in case the original is broken but because it's an external it has all the ports etc attached to it and I'm not sure I can put a new one in.
I'm going a bit crazy with this and don't want to give up yet!

Any help would be super awesome!

Solution
thats a dead drive mate.
you might get lucky by sticking it in the freezer for a couple of hours for a 1 use recovery.
freezing causes the metal to contract and in the process free up any jam but its normaly a 1 time deal. after it the drive will likely be unrecoverable.
which should give you the chance to recover most of the data. but not spinning up and drive clicking isnt something we can fix.
