Hi.

I just upgraded my CPU to Intel i5 4440s 2.8 Ghz and msi b85m-e45. Then I plan to replace my old VGA card, 9800GT 1 GDDR3 256-bit.

I want my PC at least can run latest games such as Assassin's Creed IV in high settings (no ultra, i think). The native resolution of my monitor is 1366x768, and I don't think I will upgrade it anymore.

Would you recommend a decent one with budget around $200-$300?

Thanks in advance.

1440s? You must mean 4440. I would say the best card you get is r9 280 (assuming you power supply can produce at least 550w). You will be playing everything in max settings, but I would recommend switching 1080p at the point.

Yes. It's 4440s. Sorry for the typo. It's edited.

Thanks, ak47jar3d. You mean, I switch monitors to a bigger one? Hmmm, I might think about it.

I'm also open to Nvidia card recommendation. Actually, I'm not that familiar with AMD card.

Yeah. It hard to use amd's 4th best card on their current lineup to game in that resolution. The quality difference would be huge and the r9 280 will max most games in 1080p with only few exceptions.

And I don't mean bigger screen just one with more pixels. Ever monitor has a maximum amount of pixels in can deliver. For this card, 1080p is optimal. So if you plan on buying a new own, just find one with the resolution of 1920x1080 or just ask and I'll help. :)

And Pair it up with r9 270

This combination will deliver better graphics than 280 @ 768p.

Wow... in my country, both of them cost $500 after converting from IDR... The available VGA card here is
r9 270X. I think that's why it's more expensive.

Any suggestion for Nvidia card which is equivalent to r9 270?

Gtx 660 is the close replacement to that card. And any 1080 asus display will do.
