I need recommendations for the best IPS monitor. The criteria: It must have built in speakers, around 22 inches (give or take), and ideally be around £110-£130.
This will be used for work not gaming so ultra quick response rate is not a concern.
Any help and recommendations would be much appreciated.

Something comparable or better than the "AOC I2367FM 23"

well, for work then you will want to get an IPS monitor with true 8bit. 1080p IPS monitors for gaming use 6bit+frc dithering panels to achieve 5ms response times like the TN displays. However, the majority of 1200p and 1440p monitors use a true 8bit panel giving you much more depth in color, but slightly higher response times. Monitors like the AOC are not for professionals, but for gamers who want larger viewing angles and is not intended for heavy video editing or graphic work. This site will explain that it only uses 6bit color. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/aoc_i2757fm.htm

The bad thing about true 8bit IPS monitors is that they come with a hefty price tag that is far beyond your budget. So the choices you are left with are the gaming ones and to be honest you will not see a benefit in color with the 6bit IPS monitors over high end TN monitors, just a larger viewing angle area. The gaming IPS monitors will fit you best or just go with a high end TN monitor if you want to save the buck and don't really care for the viewing angles. Hope this explains more and if you are looking for something more specific just ask :)

Here is my recommendation. Just picked one up here in the US and it is a phenomenal monitor.

http://uk.hardware.info/productinfo/195852/viewsonic-vx2270smh-led

It comes factory configured to 100% sRGB, and it is brilliant with the color. I'm using it for video editing and high-end photography, and it really rocks. I also play a few games with it, and the 7ms response time is great for gaming. This one does not do the 6bit+frc dithering. And it is quite obvious when you look at photos. I can compare with my other 5ms monitor, and the color on the 5ms monitor makes me sick now that I have this one.

Don't mean to sound like the guy to bring bad news, but this site that I use review monitor's specs tells me that the Viewsonic monitor you mentioned uses a 6bit+frc dithering panel. Just open the site and hit "Control F" to bring up the key word searcher and look up Viewsonic VX2270Smh. http://hende.ho.ua/index10.html . Sorry, but I found that price of the monitor to be Too good to be True and was sadly right.

Wow. Did not know that. I suppose my older eyes just aren't capable of telling the difference visually then. Eyes used to be good, not so much anymore. To me, it looks fantastic, and better than any other monitor I've ever owned or viewed.

You didn't bring bad news to me, as I'm happy with the purchase. I ended up getting it for $119US, so dirt cheap. I could have gotten a monitor that was a lot worse for more money. My budget is tighter than yours, though.

I'm just sorry I couldn't help. Maybe someone will know something.
