Forget about Gigabyte R9 280X. Now my choice is between Asus R9 280X DirectCU II TOP and Gigabyte GTX770. Any help will be appreciated. The price of the GTX770 is slightly lower.

Go with which one is cheaper. If you live in US or Canada, GTX 770 is better and cheaper option, if you live in Europe or Asia, R9 280X is better and cheaper option.

In my country Gigabyte GTX770 is slightly cheaper than the Asus R9 280X, but this is not a problem. My only concern is that the GTX770 has 2GB VRAM and R9 280X has 3GB VRAM, which will be more useful in the future, I think.

Also the R9 280X has 384-bit memory bus along with 3GB of VRAM. Yes it will come in handy with newer games. Then my suggestion will be the R9 280X. Just note that R9 280X consumes more power, i hope that you have decent PSU.

Here is the link again:http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/radeon-r9-280x-third-part...
And i think the Asus one will be better option, but check again for yourself.

I would stay away from Asus for now. It has some obvious flaws in it's cooling solution. The cooler will need modification to make the card run stable.
