This whole idea of paying $1200 $1500 or 2 grand for a PC seems nuts! This idea of having the best is getting crazy. There are so many of us who can't afford that kind of cash.

Does one really need the best game settings? An as far as video rendering! The high cost of Intel CPUs Vs. AMD ! Does one really need to have it that fast. Just a few years back, the top of the line CPU whatever you bought was the fastest. Now its mid-range. What wrong with that.

Compare, Mid-range to the near the best the cost seems crazy. Cant we obtain a decent pre-built or build yourself Video editing/gaming PC under say $800?

All you every see in these forums, if you only would spend a little more. I want to keep it at $600 if you could. But $800 bucks for a PC seems to be about right.

Can one buy a decent pre-built AMD system that maybe mid-range but heck at one time. It was the top of the line just few years back.

The cost of Intel I7? I would love to have that for video editing rendering PC but it seem everything I look at the cost is like $1200 and the fact I am not too sure of building my own.

All this cant we find a middle ground system say $600 to $800 to just get the job done for some gaming fun and just doing some simple home video rendering.

I know many are reading this would like a decent answer. We want the gaming/video editing without paying so freaking much.

The question is, how cheap can one go. But still enjoy his or hers PC?

1. Pre-built for us who just don't like the idea of building a system!

2. How cheap can one build yourself a system.

All with the idea of enjoying the PC.

Now last thought, we all know that New PC video games come out. Each time you need those higher setting to play. But heck you can still play many games in lower settings. Many of us don't care!

The thing about the PC Master Race Community, is they like spending money on a 400$ CPU and a 1000$ graphics card.. But you do not need that much hardware to play any if not most of the current games. I have a 650ti (2gb) that i got around the time they came out almost 2 years ago, and i can still play games on high/ultra. but i do play some on medium.. even on medium they are still better than the console versions.

this build is great.

Comparing Intel and AMD is hard, I have an AMD FX-4300 OC'd to 4.2Ghz and my friend has an i7.. 3rd Gen (can't remember model#) he would load a fraction faster than me, which is fine.. we both have SSDs both have 16GB of ram.. both "had" win7 (i now have 8).. and both of us had the game on another rotating HDD, he would load just a hair faster and i paid more than half as much as he did.. 1300$ to 600$

a budget build is worth it in the end if you are hard on cash.. i swear by AMD now that i have tried a budget build with AMD in it.. if i had the money though?.. i would still go Intel.

I will never buy pre-built again.. over priced and full of unnecessary software.

To answer your "How Cheep" question, i made a gaming rig using micro atx with the AMD CPU for around 300-400$.. minus windows ofc

It wouldn't be terribly had to make a decent mATX gaming build for about $500, if you really picked sales and rebates.
