PLEASE HELP! "Error loading operating system_"

I cannot open my ASUS K53E series... When I try , I get :"Error loading operating system_".
As I am totally ignorant when it comes to "fixing" computers, I only managed to get in BIOS. What settings do you need to have for Windows 7, or what do I have to do... Please assist... Many, many thanks...

If you have a Windows 7 Disk, boot to the disk (change the boot order in the BIOS to select the optical drive first) and select the repair mode.

The Win7 repair mode might fix the problem. It's probably your best bet.

Thank you so much for your prompt response!!! Only one "little" problem: I am SOOooooo, soooo... out of my league here, but I am trying.... More precise: I am looking at BIOS screen and don't have a clue where and what to do... Don't know how to "boot to the disk", nor how to select the "optical drive". My sincerest apologies... If you don't have the patience to deal with a total ignorant in computers, I'll understand perfectly! Many, many thanks!

Firstly do you have a WIN 7 Installation Disc ? If so then insert it into the DVD drive and restart the Lappy, while booting you should see a message "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD" just press any key, first part is done. If it doesn't show the message then you should enter the BIOS and look for "Boot" there you can see this : refer to the image, hopefully this is what your BIOS looks like :

1. Select the "Boot Option Priorities" by using arrow keys (up/down)of your keyboard. Select the option which shows Optical drive. (On pic its the second one)

2. When the option is selected use the + key from Numpad(keyboard), press once, it should move upwards the selected option.

3. Press F10(keyboard) to Save and Exit the BIOS.

4. Now you should see the message "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD" that's it, keep an sharp eye or you will miss the message.
