I just ordered an HP Envy TouchSmart 15t-j100 quad edition laptop. I am wondering if anyone knows the RAM specifications for this computer as I am unable to locate them anywhere online. Specifically, what is the voltage and cas latency on the chips? The specs I know are that it's DDR3L 1600 mhz PC3L 12800. Thanks!

HP Envy TouchSmart 15t-j100 quad edition RAM specs:
Maximum supported memory - 16GB.
Number of slots - 2.
Compatible memory sizes - 2GB, 4GB and 8GB modules.
Speed: DDR3 1333 / 1600

DDR3L is 1.35v memory, as far as CAS latency is concerned anything between CL 9 - CL 11 is what you should be looking at. Even 1.5v memory modules are capable of working in your laptop. I found a site (<Click here) which had the memory...

Good luck!!

Awesome, thanks! I was really looking for the voltage because I know higher voltage won't work in some machines that are configured for lower voltage.

One last question for you. Will RAM timing matter? Or can I pick any timing? I forgot to add that to the original post.

Usually, any of the mentioned timing will work. So it's not something you would want break your head over. Anything between CL9-CL11 will do. Dont break your bank to get the lowest (CL9), instead go with what your budget. The difference between the CL is not that huge.

Awesome, thanks so much! I'm a software guy, so when it comes to really technical hardware issues, I'm usually not the most savvy.
