Hello! I'm a young designer currently using an Asus G75VW Gaming laptop for my work (bought it for performance portability). I'm looking to buy/build a serious desktop machine to last me a few years.

The work I do:
-Serious photo editing (multiple .psd's usually bigger than 1gb. Also Lightroom editing 36mp RAW files is a b*tch)
-Intensive video processing (after effects with complex comps + particles)
-Cinema 4D motion graphics
-Multiple windows open in Firefox(for plugins) with numerous tabs EACH. So like +100 tabs total.
-Misc Adobe Software (Id, Lr, Pr, Ai, Dw,....)
-CPU intensive tasks? like calculating particles and rendering 3D...
-Most running SIMULTANEOUSLY. (mega-tasking constantly. My "creative" brain switches a lot... :p)

Expectations:
-STABLE performance desktop that will not fail me.
-latest and greatest -1
-PC
-Able to run dual monitors EFFORTLESSLY. Pref ~2560x1440. (I don't know which monitors yet... maybe Dell?)
-SSD's
-Not necessarily a gaming PC. (Although curious, would a multimedia PC play games better? I understand there's a difference between render cards vs graphic cards... not too clear on the subject matter)

Limits:
-Um... is it possible to keep it <4k? I just acquired some funds but like... goddamn. I also need to reserve some for peripherals...(monitor(s)+keyboard namely...)

TLDR: Performance Multimedia desktop PC. GO.

ALTERNATELY: Some advice/tips would be really helpful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and help me out. It is very hard to keep myself updated to the tech scene which changes obscenely fast. + Internet Karma for you! <3

Thanks for the reply! Looks like I'll have to do some research on EVERYTHING you said though. Looks like I need to brush up my tech. But yeah, thanks for kickstarting my research. ;) I have a feeling you might be right.
