Is this a good first build? It will be mainly for video editing and a bit of gaming. I will SLI later and will be adding a top specification sound card in a few months after the build. What should I change or should I keep it the same? Max budget £800.

everything looks ok except the processor being on "k"

are you sure that you are not going to oc your processor later.

if you do you will need a "k" processor and a better cpu cooler

i would also highly recommend using an ssd

It looks alright, for your budget.
The 4440 is a great CPU, and if overclocked is even better, but I am not sure about that PSU.
I know Fractal Design as a Case brand, and not a PSU one.

Since you're planning to SLI later on, I would recommend you get a different PSU, because I'm simply unsure of the one you've listed. (It can be great or trash, I have no experience with that brand PSU. + It's tier 3, about the same as the Corsair CX series.)

Some I would recommend for SLI and OCing would be XFX, Seasonic, Antec, Corsair.
You will probably need a little more than 750, maybe 800 if you plan on overclocking the CPU and GPU.

I can recommend a few here, but they are not as cheap but still affordable.

Those are great PSUs, and the first one is semi-modular, as is the second one.
But, your PSU seems like a great PSU for the value.

+1, I would personally suggest XFX because they are personally the highest quality PSUs in my opinion.

The 280x is a wee bit better than the GTX760 and that H87 motherboard supports crossfire.

I switched the 16GB of RAM for 8GB of RAM and a 120GB ssd, I upgraded to the GTX770, but there is no SLI support here. If SLI is that important to you, you could add it back for about £50 more.

Ok seriously this is the last (and seriously the best) one. This one has the best of ALL worlds. I very rarely recommend the 4670k as I am not a fan of overclocking, but you already need a Z87 motherboard since you want SLI, and it fits in your budget. You would still need to add an after market cooler if/when you wanted to overclock.

Thank you so much for this reply! I think it is a great setup! Is it worth getting the gtx770 4gb for video editing and do I need 16gb of ram? If I do overclock, would I need an expensive aftermarket cooler?

How's this? : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3lJKV

You do need a cooler if you want to overclock, but it doesn't have to be very expensive. The Cooler Master 212 Evo at £25 is the most popular choice, and is a good value. You cannot overclock the i5 4440 so that's not a good choice. I think the 2GB 770 is plenty for 1080p. 8GB of RAM would be fine to start and you could always upgrade more later if you needed to.
