Will a AMD Athlon II x3 440 bottleneck two Radeon HD 6850

Hey i just got a radeon HD 6850 graphic even though i already have one. But will two Radeon HD 6850 with crossfire bottleneck my athlon II x3 440?? I am playing dayz the mod and Arma 3

Yes, I think the CPU will be the bottleneck there. I've had 2 x HD 6850's in Crossfire on a Phenom II x6 1090T before. It takes something like a Phenom II x4 or better to drive them properly.

Worth mentioning: A single HD 7950 or R9 270 will give you the same or better GPU power as 2 x 6850s in crossfire. Instead of getting a 2nd 6850, I'd just get a single current GPU to replace the 6850.

If you want help with an upgrade path, let us know what you have and what your budget is. We can come up with something.

Not Day Z but it might on Arma 3. Still, the bottleneck shouldn't be huge, it's still a triple core. And besides, anything over 60 FPS is pointless, since normal monitors can only display up to 60.

First gen Athlon II's biggest problem is the criminally low quantities of cache, other that that, it's a great lil CPU.

Edit: These CPUs overclock quite well. If you don't want to, you could always try to unlock that extra core and see if it's stable.

I dont want to buy another gpu and i got the 2nd 6850 for free and i thought 2 was better than 1 :D
