I have just built a PC for a family member and I have check that all parts are compatible to a extent.
I have put it all together and double checked all connections yet when I go to power it on there is no an movement, the system does not POST and the only sign it has power is the SB_LED lights up green when I turn the power on but when I press the power button nothing happens.
Specs:
- i5 3570
- 8GB Kingston ddr3 ram 1600mhz
- P8 H77-m pro motherboard
- corsair cx500m PSU
There is no way to install windows seeing as nothing boots.
My current idea is that either there is not enough power in the PSU for the system, a fault PSU (which I doubt) or there is a compatibility issue.
I have check it was not the cable for the power supply so I know for sure that is not the problem.
Any ideas would be very helpful.
I have tested the PSU by bridging the 14-15 pins and the PSU powered up. So my new idea is that the motherboard is the problem. I have tried bridging the power pins when the PSU is powered but again nothing happened so I don't know where to go from here.
