Hello,

I'm going to buy new PC with i7 4770k (1150 socket) and i have problem:

Is it big difference between 2400 MHz CL11 and 1600 MHz CL9 during rendering 3D graphics?

I'm asking because for 1600 MHz CL9 i can buy H87 Pro4, but if I want to have 2400 MHz i have to buy Z87 Pro4.

Solution
I'm actually an architect myself. I model and render in 3dsmax and make all the detail components there as well, doing the architectural modeling in revit 75% of the time. I think to get the full OC ability of the 4770K with more reliable parts and bigger heatsinks for chipsets and power delivery components (all giving you a better chance at longer component lifespan), the cost difference between the H87 and Z87 boards isn't worth it.

Manufacturer seems more based on what you want to pay for the features you get. I've tried building with Asrock, Gigabyte and Asus on the most recent machines, and I've had some fail from each company, the least from Asus across 30 high end workstations of all sizes/specs.

You should get the z87 board regardless. If you wanted to overclock your processor for faster processes, you would need it the better motherboard.

As for RAM, it does help (a bit) having the faster/higher memory bandwidth when working with large files.

Are you referring to rendering 3d models in programs such as blender, 3dsmax, maya etc?

OR

Are you referring to 3d video games?

There isn't much advantage to faster memory (over 1600mhz/1866mhz) for video games.

Faster memory will only make a noticeable difference on rendering 3d models if you have enough memory for the textures and geometries to be loaded into memory totally, or even better, running 3d model files for rendering along with all textures (easy by creating an archive/package file) on a ramdisk on really fast memory.

To take advantage of the 4770k, I would recommend the Z87 board no matter what unless you are planning to upgrade to a Z87 board later if you initially go with the H87. Otherwise, you are wasting the extra $30 for the 4770K vs the 4770.

Programs like maya, 3dsmax - pc is for my gf (student of architecture)

Few persons are recommending Asrock H87 Fatal1ty... what do you think about it?

You suggest that PRO4 H87/Fatal1ty Performance is not good to OC 4770k? Intel said that they will ban OC at H87 few months ago and did nothing with it ;)
