Budget Range: preferably under $300, but can go as high as $400
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Must play 1080p video smoothly (so need an HDMI out). Will be using this almost exclusively for playing movies off my external HDD and retro gaming emulation (maybe up to NDS, but at least up to N64).

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I am tired of connecting my laptop to my TV to play Metroid and watch Dr. Who.
If something pre-built will meet my needs, feel free to suggest that as well. My most important concern is keeping the price down.
