I have this Gateway

http://www.amazon.com/Gateway-DX4860-UR28-Desktop-Black/dp/B00CJ9HVOI

and the other day I upgraded the PSU to a Corsair CS550M and installed a PNY GTX 750ti. With only the new PSU and no GPU, the system works perfectly. With the 750ti installed, the screen sits on the gateway splash screen for about 5 minutes then goes to a screen listing the Nvidia GTX 750ti, but hasn't left that screen. I have tried another PNY 750ti with the same result. A Radeon 7770 Ghz edition I had lying around works fine. There was no GPU in the PC before so there are no Nvida or AMD drivers installed as of now. Could the mobo just not be compatible or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Solution
Did you check if the onboard card is disabled in Bios? Because this system has an Intel HD graphics card on the motherboard. It may conflict with your PNY.
there is not such thing about gpu - mobo compatability. it should work fine. cs550 is a good psu. and since it works with the 7770 it should also work with 750ti. both require a 6pin power connector make sure you hook it up! there is a chance you have a faulty gpu!

The PNY 750ti does not have a 6 pin plug, and I have tried two different new 750ti's

h67 is a modern mobo chipset and as i said all pcie can provide 75w more than enough for the 750ti since it doesnt have any additional power need.check into bios for any option that may restrain the pcie full usage.make sure it goes all the way down pcie socket also try the gpu to another pc.

yes the onboard was disabled, it needed a new bios
