I bought an IOCREST OCI-Express SATA III (6G) Expansion card to run my older IDE drives to transfer data to my new build.
This one http://www.iocrest.com/en/product_details379.html
And installed it and ran the drivers that seemed to make the most sense.

The instructions say:
For an existing installation
1. Insert the Driver bundled with the PCIe SATA (6G) card into your CD-ROM driveCD in the CD-ROM drive .
2. At the Windows Desktop click Start and then Run.
3. Type ( it provides the path to the DRVSETUP>EXE file on the CD)
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
5. Restart Windows to complete the installation

So I did all that as administrator and the stinkin thing cannot see the drives that I hooked up to it. I tried an IDE and a SATA and nuthin’

It includes instructions to verify the installation to go to device manager and look for “Marvell91XX SATA6G” but there is nothing like that
I do see an “ Asmedia 106x SATA Controller” I’m guessing that might be it but still It doesn’t see my drives Asmedia happened to be a directory on the CD that came with the Card.

Am I stoopit? Is there something I’m missing?

Machine is Asus x79 Deluxe & Intel Core i7-4930K

You might have to change the jumpers on the IDE drives, possibly to CS or cable select. If that doesn't work it might want you to configure the drives as Master & Slave, via the jumpers. If there is a preference, the manual should indicate so.
