I built my gaming pc about a month back and im considering adding an ssd drive for windows then using my hdd as storage. However i also have an optical drive and my psu only has 2 sata cables. 600w corsair Psu. Therefore is it possible for me to power both the hdd and the optical drive off one sata cable that has 3 connectors along it. Also as windows is oem as long as it is the same motherboard i can move windows to the ssd from the hdd? Thanks in advance.

Power yes, data no.

You can easily power multiple SATA devices off the same power cable. As you know for data you will need a dedicated cable for each SATA device.

SATA devices are low power (less than 12 watts) devices. That's why you can power multiple devices from the same cable.
