Hey. I have 8 GB of RAM. In single channel mode, all 8 GB recognized. In dual channel, only 3.9 recognized, and dual channel is recognized as single channel in CPU-Z. I tested one stick of RAM in every slot. The PC boots fine in slot A1, but does not boot in any others. Should I RMA the motherboard or CPU (bad mem controller?)

What mobo and CPU, might loosen up the heatsink on your CPU, then snug it back down, not overly tight, if one side/corner is overly tight it can throw the MC off

Checked for bent/broken pins? Have latest BIOS? If each stick works fine by itself, could also try raing DRAM and CPU/NB voltages ea about + 0.05, if still no joy what model # of DRAM

Might be a MC that can't handle 1866, could try at 1600, 9-9-9-24, 1.5 2N or (2T), if no joy, would guess mobo
