Last week Nvidia announced the Titan Z which will feature 12gb of vram with a costly price of $3000 and will be able to SLI with one other Titan Z. Is the price tag worth it? I don't think it is but what do you think?

Solution
It looks nice n all but because of the price tag I still think the 780ti will be the best seller, I know it's a good GPU but only people willing to spend more than $3000 is gonna buy it + do you think game will take advantage of the power, maybe in the future but I think game wise I would choose SLI 780ti's.

Ya it appears to exist between the quadro and geforce. Has plenty of rendering power and CUDA that is missing on geforce but lacks some of the driver optimization for math etc. that is on the quadro cards.

nah with Titan Z it is possible to have Titan Black 2 way SLI performance on a mobo that only have one 1 PCI-E x16 slot like ITX mobo and most micro ATX mobo. and currently nvidia believe it is worth the extra $1000 to give you such option possible.

also it is possible nvidia already have GTX790 at the back bench to counter AMD's 295x2 on price basis.

well titan Z itself is 2 GTX Titan Black on a single PCB. also if one of the gpu broken then the card will be useless. with normal SLI if one of the card broken then you still have the other one to work with

Nvidia is getting like Intel, horribly overpriced for a small premium in performance. That's why I'll stick to AMD from now on, I feel like I'm getting my money's worth!

nvidia being overpriced compared to competition is nothing new. but if nvidia and AMD goes to gpu price war AMD will be the one that cannot keep up with it like what happen during HD6K series vs nvidia Fermi.

Well dropping prices to undercut each other has been going on since forever between AMD and Nvidia.
