CPU fan situation

I am building a new computer, and I have all the parts ordered. I have had my mobo for a month or so, and I have a question. I also have the case, which doesn't have a fan in the top; however, the fans on my heatsink will pull air from the pcie area, then blow it out the top. Like I said, the top doesn't have a hole in it. I don't really know what to do, I was thinking about these options:
1. Try to cut a hole in the top
2. Poke some holes in the top

What do you guys think I should do? Should I leave it? The fan will be blowing pretty close to the exhaust fan. I could maybe put something in there slanted to direct the air toward the exhaust. I wanted to know what you guys think I should do. Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Solution
Yeah.

The image above is direct from Coolermaster and it shows the AMD bracket is 2 parts and can be slipped on either side of the center heatpipe. They have grooves for it and everything.
You should be able to use the AMD bracket around the center heat pipe(this would make it blow front to back).

Cooler Master shows it that way as well.

So looks like you have no problem after all :)

Don't cut a hole in the top! Have you tested the system yet? Do your normal routine while running a temp monitoring program such as HWMonitor. If you play demanding games, do so while keeping a close eye on temperature. And don't worry, your system won't let you fry the CPU. You'll get a blue screen or shutdown before that happens. However, you shouldn't have any issues; while the airflow may not be optimal, it is likely just fine for anything less than overclocking.

Un-optimal you say :)

Check this out :) . Power supply gets to eat cpu heat all day long.

CM has them covered. It mounts any direction.

Wow. That is impressively terrible. I love my giant case with it's 5 oversized fans. I'd have to put a winter coat on my rig to get a rise.

I will be getting the last of my parts on Tuesday. I will put it all together, then use it while keeping an eye on the temp. If it gets pretty hot (which from what you guys are saying, it most likely will not), I will post something like this again. I can't test this until Tuesday though. Thanks!

Can I mount it like that? The mounting bracket things on my motherboard are on the north and south...
