Multi purpose laptop

Hi im a student who is looking for a laptop that will last me. I am a casual gamer also so i want something that can play games like skyrim and guild wars on medium to high settings. I also want good battery life though for when im typing papers and just surfing the web. My max price is 1200

It has around the same battery like as the N550JV, which isn't that great. The Acer Aspire V7 is the only one that can push up to 8 hours.

okay if i were to custom build a toshiba could i get one with nvidia graphics and i7 but still keep it within my range?
