I have a functioning HTPC that i decided need more oomph. I purchased a Radeon HD 6450 and installed it into the computer. When I booted the PC everything looked normal until after the windows screen. Then the monitor flickered and had no signal. I restarted and went into the BIOS and made sure that output was selected to HDMI on PCI Express. I didn't adjust any other setting. I restarted and tried again. Same thing happens. Windows screen then no signal.

I pulled out the GFX Card and reset the BIOS options and attempted to start it the way it was before hand. It now also does not have a signal. I have been trying to figure this out for about 2 days now and I am getting very frustrated.

I have reset the CMOS by jumper and battery to no avail just in case something else had changed. All my connections are tight. HDMI cable works on other computers.

I know that this question has been asked on some different threads however I have not found any solution that works. Any help would be amazing.

May I suggest just going out an buying a GTX 750 Ti Superclocked? I know that doesn't solve your question but I have the exact same APU an that's what I have an it's working just fine.

Can you get to the bios or do you literally mean monitor has no signal at all?

I can get to the bios and edit the settings. When i exit the bios it goes to the windows logo and then the monitor loses its signal. its Windows 8.1 btw. forgot to mention that.

Maybe you were having the same issue I had this morning when installing my new graphics card. Check the boot priority an see what is going on there. You should look over this thread - http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2092615/graphic-... - It might answer your question hopefully. Although I was getting a black screen that said something. Read that thread an see if it helps bro.
