Okay so I have the Asus F2A55-M/CSM that came with the computer at time of purchase from my local BestBuy. I been using the computer for about 2 months now an just recently I've been having an issue that usually didn't happen under these circumstances.

*Don't Laugh*

I open up runescape (a very simple game that shouldn't cause this) an after just seconds of playing it I hear my fan getting louder than normal.

So I open up my Asus Suite ii an check the temperature an CPU Fan speed. The temperature was around 60 Celsius an a little warning popped up in the bottom right of my screen telling me it was too hot.

Soon as I shut down the game it goes back down to 35 Celsius in less than a minute. I don't understand why that is when its been doing fine all this time.

So I thought maybe I'd check an see if I got the latest bios update. Once again opening up Asus Suite ii an checking the system information for my bios version.

Bios Version: 0403
Caption: 12/24/2013

First of all I'm not sure what caption means. I'm guessing its the date that the version of bios was released an updated last. Though when I look on the asus website an enter the serial code so I know I'm looking at the exact motherboard that I have this version of bios isn't even listed.

The last bios version was 6504 an was posted in February 2014. Not sure how to update it or if I even should. I have a GTX 750 Ti Sc I'm wanting to install but I'm not wanting to do that until I can get this problem resolved first.

EDIT: I did just now find this really super old post on asus forums about my 0403 bios version.

It does seem odd that the Asus AI Suite is saying you have a BIOS that doesn't exist on the Asus Bios support page, but you can look on your MB to see which Bios was installed at the time of manufacture. It is usually a small white sticker near the the Ram modules. The last four numbers on the long string will be the BIOS version. I don't have your MB, but I do have an Asus MB and they all have a very easy to use Bios update tool in the Bios under "tools" in the advanced section. Simply download the BIOS to a USB stick, unzip it and then do a restart with the USB stick in. Go to the Easy Flash II tool in the BIOS ( page 2-2 in your manual ) and there will only be one BIOS file there to choose from, so choose it and let it do the rest. It should automatically restart and go back into the BIOS so you can verify or change any setting before going back into Windows. The default settings will be fine. It defaults to AHCI sata setting. IF you are uncomfotable with the BIOS, go in and check all settings without changing anything first. The Asus AI suite can change a lot of performance settings in the BIOS for you and I would recommend that if you are not too familiar with where everything is in the BIOS, that you use the AI suite in Windows instead, simply because it is so much easier! I would also recommend updating the Ai Suite. There is a newer version as of 3/2/14, ( not sure why it days it is the same version, 2.01.02, maybe a misprint )
If after updating your BIOS, you find that things are not good, you can always go in and change it back, but you will need to make sure you have one of the BIOS versions that is in their support list and get a copy of it too, just don't put it on the USB stick to avoid confusion.

Just found an easier way! Perhaps you already saw this. The Asus Ai suite ( which I also have, but never looked at this section! ) has a Update tool that works through Windows. I have never used it, but in your case you may as well use it. I would still get the file from the Asus site first them choose "Update BIOS from file". Wish I had seen this earlier! Now you can put the file anywhere on you main HD, just unzip it first.

Well after shutting down an looking inside my computer I found this information out...

Motherboard: F2A55-M/M11BB DP_MB

Which is a chopped down version of the F2A55-M/CSM that they sell on Newegg

Many of the components are missing from the board which I guess was done so they could sell it cheaper. Either way I also looked in the BIOS an it says the version is still 0403 but also says the Build date was sometime in December of 2013.

So I don't know how that is possible when I've found that this version of BIOS is actually a BETA from around 07' 08'
