Hi guys,

I'm going to buy a new laptop which comes with Windows 8 pre-installed. (Its my first time with a laptop which comes with OS pre-installed).

My question is, will the laptop comes with the Windows Installation Disc as well? I guess not, so in case I've to do a fresh windows installation of the windows in future, how will I do?

Thanks.

You can get an ISO of the OEM disc(OEM is just original equipment manufacturer. It cost less and is what your system will come with as opposed to the Retail copy you can buy at the store). That is what I was suggesting, but you have to watch out, "pirated"(even mention it "pirate" anything is quite frowned upon here) copies will NOT use your legit key and may come with all kinds of unwanted extras.

For imaging, I was going to say you could get away with just c: and whatever boot partition you have, chances are you would not even need to image the recover partition.

As you have mentioned, Recovery setups have a slight issue of not being a fresh install it is exactly what the system came with on day one. How much extra crap varies from...
Most laptops do NOT come with recovery media anymore.

Windows 8 has a built in recover option and the laptop should also have a recover partition to recover to factory settings.

Unlike Windows 7, not too many copies of Windows 8 are floating around(Win Vista and 7 had lots of official digitalriver mirrors for iso images of disc). I am sure you can find a copy if the OEM disk, but be careful to ensure that is all that you are getting.

Pre built systems like this also have the option to burn a recover disc set or make a recovery flash drive(but many limit to 1 copy only[with some tweaks you can make more than one]).

Either way, if it worries you, you can make your own image of the system(make sure you also get the boot partition[system reserved or uefi]).

Yes the laptop I'm going to get will have a recovery partition. I know as a friend of mine bought the same model some time ago. But I'm new to this Recovery partition stuff.

What is OEM Disk & how can I get one? (Newbie)

By making image, do you mean an image of the "Recovery Partition" And when you say boot partition (probably C), it will be a huge one, like 20GB or so!

Also, making backup of recovery partition helps, if you want to restore computer to a previous state. BUT what if I want to do a fresh clean install, after formatting C (primary drive)?

Thanks.

OR to save me all the hassle, how about if I just get a Windows 8 disc or an ISO from anywhere I can get my hands on (pirated or not) and install it on my laptop, because as long as I've the legal license embedded in my laptop, there shouldn't be any problem. Do you agree?

I actually have a copy of 8.1 Home Premium 64-bit OEM so I am kind of covered for any systems that came with that OS installed.

OK, I just got back. It looks cool, but as I was going to do partitions of the primary drive, I came across an issue. Pls check & advice.
