Hi guys, I nd some advice, I intend to extend my wifi from one country to another, we happen to stay around the border, the distance between is up to 10km, my parents on the other side and I on the opposite.

Am doing this to see if I can save cause on ma parents side internet costs are high yet the speed is low.

On ma side I have a high speed of 6+ Mbps upload and download.
I havent tried this out wanted to seek advice from the experts first.
Am wondering if this could be possible without any interferences from the countries' regulatory authorities.
Please advise.
Thanx

So long as you're within BOTH countries' wireless regulations, you should be fine. I am not a lawyer. If there's content filtering, you may get in trouble for supplying banned content or similar. Most ISPs don't like you to on-sell the service to others, either.

However, WiFi isn't going to work easily over that distance. Especially not if it's a populated area. You'd need a WiFi bridge with a serious directional antenna at each end.

The countries are Uganda & Tanzania but and I intend to transfer bandwidith from Tanzania to Uganda.

Regarding regulations i think am not so much worried but my question is;
is there any thing like countries put in place to limit connections of this kind? Lets say the IP addresses of the connected devices on the network, will they remain showing Tanzania or will have to change cause of the location being different.

Here we have a line of site for the two points if I install masts, but still if I had no line of site what could I have done so as to have this service?

The people on the other end of the connection will still show as being where the internet connection is - the ones in Uganda will still look like they're coming from Tanzania. They'll be using your IP address.

You'll want some decent-sized antennas/waveguides. Satellite dishes may be the best way to do this - easily available, and a common sight. Then put a standard 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi antenna in the focal point, and connect it to a router at both ends, in bridge mode.

While this enterprise may be perfectly ethical if you use a commercial internet connection, legality is another matter. In countries where governments value censorship, crossing a border with an unapproved information network could get you into trouble. This is particularity the case because the hardware will be visible and obvious. If you use a satellite receiver dish, it will be quite obviously pointing horizontally, rather than straight up like a dish actually getting a satellite signal. Consider the legal ramifications for you and the cross border users in before you decide to set up this network.
