Compatibility ASUS and GIGABYTE

Good Day All.

I have a Gigabyte z77x-UD3H Motherboard and I had a MSI GTX660 Ti OC GFX. I experianced a Compatibility issue with the card and the GFX. I have just sold the card and looking at the Asus HD7870-DC2-2GD5 (v2).

All I would like to know is if anybody know of a incompatibility between these two befor I purchase the card

Thanks for the quick reply.

The MSI card was on the board and I was having endless problems.
me and a mate of mine swopped for a weekend and he has a Gigabyte GTX680 and that worked perfectly.
My card also worked perfectly with his system.
That is when I discovered the incompatibility with my board.
i also updated my BIOS to the latest on the card and the board and still no luck.
i also updated the Nvidia drivers to the latest and that just made the problem worse.
I also reinstalled windows on another HDD and still the same problems

Believe me. This is the first time ever I have posted online about a problem. I have never needed to.
So this is officially a funny case.
Even worse then when I had a faulty GFX causing a game to work on one hard drive but not the secondary
