GCN = Graphics Core Next. Everything that's GCN is supported by Mantle, everything that isn't GCN isn't supported.

If you want to OC, make sure you get one with a decent cooler. It should be reasonable.

right now nvidia did not have anything like mantle and most likely will not create one to compete with mantle. the upcoming DX12 will also featuring the stuff that Mantle do right now but it will available on all gpu that can use DX12. but DX12 won't be coming out until sometime next year and game based on the API will only comes towards the end of 2015 (if there is no delay on it). right now nvidia intend to fight Mantle with further optimizing their DX11 drivers.

I have a 2Gb XFX Radeon 7850, and I get great frame rates even with my budget 5500 AMD A8 C(A)PU @ 1680x1050. I would avoud a 1Gb model as most games now are beginning to benefit from 1Gb+ VRam.

7850 does NOT currently support Mantle. It will in the future, but right now it does not. AMDs plan is that eventually all GCN based cards will have Mantle support.

OK, its "supported" but as far as I know, its not FULLY supported yet. The drivers are still beta; last I knew the cards which are closest to optimization for Mantle are the R9-290/x.

The term 'beta' has slowly drifted over the years... I'd consider them to be release candidates at the least, and probably stable with what's currently considered stable being more like long term support.

But apparently there's a few bugs with Mantle support in BF4, not the AMD drivers. Something about over-allocating the VRAM on certain cards, so they might have disabled it in some.

Also, you need to have COMPLETELY UNINSTALLED the previous drivers first. That means booting into safe mode and using something like Driver Sweeper, or ideally a full reinstall.

in BF4, Have some lags but this game works any good.. why have lags sometimes? High settings and 1600X900 resolution.
