when i connect my portable usb device, it shows please insert a disk. can any one help me?

i have connected my camera's 2 gb chip through connector with my laptop. but it shows Thereis no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\ Device\ Harddisk2\ DR5. i tried to fix the problem. but it says, the disk cannot be started.

I
You need to install the driver for the device. Windows should try to do this itself by looking on your PC and/or the internet. If it can't it asks you to tell it where the driver is (eg on a DVD).
