Hey there,

So a while back i was looking for a budget gaming build and ended up with a 750 ti, which for the price of the whole build, i wasn't happy with.

I've since worked out something a tad cheaper and what ill most likely go with.
Can anyone give me some input as to how i'v done. Is my system any good? Can it play recent games with decent settings?

Heres link: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/3ldoh

also is an extra $50 worth? From r9 270 to 270x AND
can someone recommend a cheap aftermarket cpu cooler. Willing to do without but if i can buy one cheaply then it will work.

thanks

edit: considering changing cpu and mobo to i3 4130 and asus/asrock h81m. Purely so further down the track i can always upgrade the i3 to an i5 without worrying about mobo.

This Pc Will Be able to play games at very decent settings as for the gpu it depends on you the difference between 270 and 270x the clock speeds 270 is clocked at 900Mhz and 270x is clocked at 1Ghz check this site for more info:http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-270X-vs-Radeon-R9-270

If you overclock the 270 it will perform same as 270x so it depends on you which one is good for you

As for the cpu cooler go with cooler master hyper 212 evo its cheap and good for small overclocks

I will go for the i3-4130 with h81 MB, plus the low profile RAM, if you use the i3 and you don't need the aftermarket cooler. If you upgrade to i5 and you want to add the cpu cooler like hyper 212evo, the low profike RAM will fit, but the RAM with high heatsink will not fit under the cooler fan. If the MB has 4 memory slot, because you can move the RAM into 2nd/4th and you can any kind of RAMs.
Like this RAM http://www.cplonline.com.au/ddr3-1866-8gb-dual-channel-ares-f3-1866c9d-8gab.html

Also I will get the r9-270, yes the 270x is better ( fews FPS more) but you will not notice the difference in the real world games play.

personally i wanted the i3, for a later i5 but tbh i don't know when the upgrade will come. I might just stay with the fx for a few years or even just buy 8230 right now. The ram looks good, about standard price for 8g nowadays.

As for the cooler, i should probably buy one if i plan to overclock right?
Also, if i decide to overclock the 6300/8230 which motherboard would be best? asrock 980de3 or AsusM5A78L-M

If you want to get the FX8320 then you should not get those MB because they are the AMD 760 chipset MB, which is good for the fx6300. Also you may oc fx6300 to the 4.0 GHz. The better MB for the fx8300 will be the Asus M5A97 EVO for $138. The FX8 series cpu is power-hungry one, if the MB does not have enough the power phase ( VRMs ) for the fx 8 series cpu, then the PC will not run stable because the MB is overheat. And the asus brand MB is very good for the AMD fx cpu. Here is list for the MB VRMs. https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AgN1D79Joo7tdE9xMUFlMEVWeFhuckJEVF9aMmtpUFE&gid=2

One thing I recommend buy the i3 + h81 MB, because 1) both of system have similar price in your country. In here, USA, we will recommend to buy the amd fx6300 because it is cheaper than the i3. If they have same price we will recommend to buy the i3. For most of game i3 will be little bit better than the fx6300, and for application performance FX6300 will be better. 2) If you buy the FX6300 you may need the aftermarket cooler because fx runs hot, also the climate is hot in your country too. You don't need the aftermarket cooler for i3.
Also check the links for the i3 vs fx6 series performance in BF4, or other games.
