I have a gigabyte ga-z77x-ud5h motherboard and After recently attempting to update my bios windows will no longer start at all.

I gets to the splash screen and i cannot access the bios options as the keys dont seem to work at all when it has in the past.

It goes to a black screen as if it is trying to load windows then nothing happens. Same happens with back up and main bios. I've tried resetting cmos too.

Just wondering if these symptoms sound like my board is dead?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried flashing the BIOS to the previous version? try that before RMA'ing.

Generally speaking, the only reason to flash the BIOS is if you machine is unstable, or the newer BIOS offers fixes to known issues, or if the newer BIOS offers better hardware compatibility. If your machine was stable and there were no performance issues or hardware incompatibility, then really no reason to flash the BIOS.
