Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional-M
Part #: 90-MXGL40-A0UAYZ
CPU: i5-3570k
GPUs: two Radeon HD 7870 GHz Editions in xfire
Model #: AX7870 2GBD5-M2DH
PSU: Thermaltake TR2-600W
Model #: TR2-600W

Please let me know if you need more hardware info.

Go for a smalltime currency. You'll get nothing with that rig. It's all ASIC chips now.

Canadianvice: asics have not taken over scrypt currencies yet. ( the best asic's fro scrypt only put out 350-450khs and still cost $200-$250 ( i would not say they are worth it at this point ) also scrypt -n is out which once again puts gpus ahead of asics. I run 4 5870's and a 5830 and I mine doge, ltc, and tips along with up and coming currencies. ( load balancing) profitability is down right now though mostly due to the value of bitcoin tanking to 442 usd. there are powers trying to make it fail.

these guys cover the hosting and electricity costs at their server locations which makes it more profitable than mining on your own:

otherwise it's quite costly to mine...

those are bitcoin miners ( please disregard this statement I did not read that page far enough though still not worth the cost. ) which is not profitable at all. you need to make roi within 3 months and they never will. the money is in scrypt and soon to be scrypt-n alts like doge, tips, ltc etc your best bet is mining on a multipool that mines the most profitable coin at the moment and the algorithm checks every 60 seconds.

you either need scrypt asics like gridseed ( not quite worth it yet )or gpus and gpus will still be viable for at least 6-12 more months on scrypt. then you can use them on scrypt-n. and when it is no longer profitable to you, you can still sell them and make some money there too
