push pull fan question

I am finally able to do my water cooling that I've been planning for over a year. Then this question popped in my head.

Do the push fans have to have the same CFM as the pull fans?

My thought is whichever is moving more air is going to force the other to do the same.

My worry is do to size restraints I have schythe slim fans for the push fans and I have some cooler mast jetflo fans for pull. The jetflos have 95 CFM and my schythe slip streams move at 88 CFM. I know those numbers are close but I'm just curious to see if anyone that knows more than me can help.

In short 88CFM fans pushing and 95CFM fans pulling.

Couple of things, when you are comparing push and pull fans for the same manufacturer, they will always displace the same CFM. However, when you are comparing two from different manufacturers, they will always differ.

In essence, there are two schools of thought when it comes to positive or negative pressure. If you want more cooling, choose negative which is nice because you will remove any deadspots in your case if there is any. The downside is that more dust may accumulate while cooling is better in overall testing. In a negative pressure configuration, you will have less dust but slightly less cooling. The rule of thumb in any case would be a + or - 10 CFM difference between the two and no more than 20 CFM. Lastly, I as well as many others think the most efficient way to cool is to use the least number of fans possible. Good luck!

Ok thank you for your answer. An after the water cooling is complete I will be looking at 10+ fans in my full tower. And i have fan filters on all of my intake fans and dust hasnt been a problem for the 3 years Ive had this tower. My eventual goal it to have a complete water cooling setup and minimize the intake fans and use most for radiator cooling/exhaust but thats another hill Ill have to climb.
