So my core 2 duo has a intel delta stock fan, when i cleaned it i broke 1 leg so i got a new same type fan but nidec .I installed it and it works fine but the pc feels slower, not drasticly slower but still i can see the difference before i changed it. So i ask is it the fan or something else thats slowing my pc down? I read that delta fans are faster but consume a little bit more power, does the speed of the nidec fan changes the preformance ?

Solution

You could try the fan idea. It does not hurt anything. That cooler may be cheap and not work well.
The fins could not dissipate heat well. I highly doubt that that cooler has any copper too.
I would get another stock cooler. They are under...

Umm well do you notice it being any hotter?

If you know how to get into the bios you can check the temp that is if you don't have a program already on the computer that you can check it with along with the power consumption. Other than that I can't think of any reason it would cause your computer to be slower.

What cooler did you get? Check the temps of your system.
Your system may be running hotter. That will make your computer slower.
If you can, get another stock cooler and see if the problems goes away.
Power should not be a problem at all. Fans do not take much power at all.
Make sure the fan ir running at high RPMs. That way it will cool properly.
make sure you have the cooler mounted on the CPU right.
Make sure the cooler has good contact with the CPU.
If you did not use thermal paste when you installed the cooler get some!
Happy Computing! :)

Woah you better get that fixed soon as you can. You are edging up on the danger zone there buddy. 90-95 C is considered danger zone for desktop PC's I think.... maybe someone can clarify.

That cooler is not cooling the CPU right. For a Core 2 Duo that is hot.
Leave all of the fans speeds at default.
The CPU is running hot, so your CPU has to throttle it's self sown to stay cool.
That is why you computer is slower. I would get another stock cooler or a high quality cooler like Noctua.

yeah well when it on load it was 88 now without load its70 C but still im concerned :( can i do something like leaving the heatsink on but spawping the fans because they are the same size? Because the heatsinks are identical, but mine has a broken leg and the new one doesnt and mine old fan is faster.

wow that is some serious heat, you might want to invest in a better cooler, my cpu temp is around 40-50 degrees hard gaming and about 20-25 degrees idle, only spent £25 on it :p
