PC wattage calculator

Hi all

I am building a gaming pc and i dont know which power supply to choose.I have Newegg telling me i need a 750 watt power supply,then i have ASUS power supply calculator saying i need a 550 Watt power supply.I am either going to get this 600w power supplyhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... or im going to get the 500w version of this power supply.But i dont know which one to choose.If someone on here could help me that would be awesome.Also what would happen if i had to big of a power supply would the computer just not use it or would it fry my motherboard?
