R9 270x or r9 280x

i am planning to get a new pc soon confused bedtween gpu
R9 270x or r9 280x and any benchmark results pls.... i am having a 720p monitor. Are they overkill for 720p resolution? hten suggest me a cheap 150$ 1080p monitor

Yeah, most people who get the 280x are going to use it at 1080 or higher. But a more powerful GPU is always nice!

If you have a 720p monitor then yes, bot of those are more than enough for max settings. You should buy the R9 270 (non-x), if youre planning on keeping that monitor, the R9 270 will do pretty decent in 1080p too, and you would have more money for a better screen.
