Building my new PC this weekend hopefully. I want to get all the drivers on a USB ready but not exactly sure what I need. There's a CD that came with the mobo but I would think that the drivers might be outdated.
Advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Just go here http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_EVO_R20/HelpDesk... put in your os version that you plan on using and follow it step by step and just copy and paste the download file onto your usb drive. Just pick out the latest driver for each one of the categories and download it.

I will go to AMD to download the chipset/ ahci driver: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Window...

audio/ network driver from realtek: http://www.realtek.com.tw/

For the ASMedia USB 3.0 Driver I can find in the asmedia site, may just get it from asus.

Thd GPU driver I will go to either AMD or Nvidia to get it.

not really just things like bios, chipset, lan, usb, audio, and sata. A lot of newer motherboards will have a utility that is on the cd that will allow you to upgrade your bios through a program rather than through flashing.

You don't need the BIOS update as long as the PC run well, only you want to update the BIOS if your PC has problem to the hardware compatible issues.

Do I need to intsall the "Utilities" drivers?

If the BIOS is fine I'm going to leave it alone.

Not really that is just suite stuff that comes from asus. you can pick through them and figure out which ones that you want. Like if it has something for overclocking, fan controls, and software to check for updates you normally can download that.

GPU driver I will get from here http://support.amd.com/en-us/download I don't recommend go to the third party website to download the drivers.

You may find the "ASUS AI Suite II ( Fan Xpert 2 ) " is usefull. If you have the big size HDD like over 2.2TB then get the "Disk Unlocker".
