My sound card is not playing loud, even with Windows volume and speaker volume at 100%, I can't hear music or whatever. How can I overclock my sound card so it plays louder?

Solution

Ohhhh Onboard audio. Okay, well that's kind of different. When you said "Sound Card" I thought you meant like an actual sound card. (This was my fault, I missed your second post somehow)

As manofchalk said, your speakers are...

Open the volume mixer and make sure it's not just one of the levels that got turned down for some reason.

On a different note, have you installed the proper drivers?

My sound card is the one integrated to my motherboard( ASUS MAXIMUS VI Hero). All the driver are installed. My speakers are Logitech Z623, and thay are working, I tested them on my friend computer. Every channel in the mixer is at max level. Everything was working fine a week ago. So my sound card is probably broken? Does it mean I have to change my motherboard(since the sound card is integrated)?

Could you test the soundcard on your friend's computer?

Can you think of anything that happened in that last week? I feel like if it was a serious problem you would hear distortion, not just quiet output.

Definitely make sure connections are solid though (reseat the card, etc)

I can't test the sound card on other computer, it is integrated on the motherboard(the I/O are next to my USB, Ethernet port). The speakers seems to be connected correctly. If it can help, there is the same problem on the front jacks. THERE IS a bit of distortion, like a white noise. Well, the only thing that I can think of is 2 day before the problem started, I knocked over a coffe cup on my desk, and some coffee drop on the case. Some might have got inside since there is a fan on the top of my case.

As manofchalk said, your speakers are plugged into the wall, right? Perhaps a chord got kicked out and the 1/8th inch jack is miraculously supplying power :p

Yes, onboard audio, forgot that name, sorry :p . Problem got solved yesterdsay. I tried with my headphones, and there was mo problem. I tested my speakers with another 1/8 cable, and everything was fine. Must have kicked the 1/8 and somehow damage it. I found out while I was checking the connections, I moved the 1/8 and the sound came back(extremly loud, everything wasstill a 100% XD) for a moment. Thaks for everything anyway :)

Has happened to most of us :D
