I can't help you with prebuilt as for $2000 they will most likely be terrible in comparison. Are you scared of custom building in case it breaks or something?

With 2000 you can make yourself a mid to high-end gaming pc
And with 2000 dollars you can buy yourself a low-end gaming pc
Don't even bother buying a pre built gaming pc , you won't even be able to upgrade your pc .
And every single PC part has it's own warranty .
Really , as long as you are carefull with the parts , everything will go allright .

I haven't bought a pre built pc since I was a child and didn't know better. Don't get those, they're a total ripoff. They're way overpriced for what you get out of it. The cost of any prebuilt pc would be better spent on building your own pc, it'll have better performance.

Buying pre built is just idiotic and nobody here will want to help you. It's a very very silly thing to do! You will pay 2000 for a computer worth 1200. Its a huge markup on pcs. For example: I build pc's for people who don't know anything about it and I will spend about 1600 on parts including tax, and sell it to them for 2400. People do not know how bad it is buying pre built, especially from companies like alienware or cyberpowerpc

Basically this. I have some dreams about making and selling $600 (in parts) entry level (1080p, medium/high) gaming PCs, but then to sell them, I'd still have to charge like an extra $200 just to make in worth my time.

Yeah, building mid range pcs are pretty difficult, the best money is in designing high end pcs. The demand is actually extremely high. Sometimes I have 30 computers I'm working on at once (like in my shop) and each make at least 4-500 a piece in profit after everything. So thats pretty decent. And i live in a remote area and am moving to a city so business sounds like it will just get better, already got a ton of orders for a couple weeks from now. People prefer custom built over pre built (like by a brand) because they still get more for their money even after our cut. I add at least 500 bucks to each build just for my service and they are still getting it cheaper than from online retailers, its a sweet deal for us all.

Ok here's what you can do :

Ask the community for the best parts you can get for your budget
Buy the parts
Find a local PC builder
Pay him to build your PC
Ta-daaa !
You won't have to build it yourself , and you will get a way better pc than a pre built 2000$ one
