I have 3 Asus VG248 monitors, and I wanted to configure them with Nvidia Surround. On my system, I also have 3 780ti's. But in the Nvidia control panel, surround won't work. I am using 2 dual-link dvi cables and 1 DisplayPort cable, and when it tells me to connect the displays to the gpus, the displayport one says "Move another connector to the same GPU." The dvi ones work fine, but just not displayport. Is it not supported? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I have 3 monitors hooked up to my 770 2 are on the DVI's and main is on the HDMI. All are different sized, 2 are running at 1080I and the main is running at 2560x1440 with no issues.
If you have an HDMI port try using that over the Displayport connector.

It depends on the card. A new GPU came out that supports 8 monitors. :)

You do not need to run each monitor from a different card. When I was running SLI 670's I ran all 3 monitors off 1 card.

You do not need to have the same cable connections. When I ran SLI 670's and now on my single 770 I have 2 DVI dual Links and an HDMI cable to run the 3 monitors.

From the look of the article, you should be able to do surround with 1,2, or 3 video cards. 1 card, normally, would not have 3 of the same connectors. So you don't need all the same cable, and connectors. They even show it being 2 DVI and a DP.
My suggestion is for anyone wanting to do this, make sure you have every possible cable combination just in case. If the 3 card setup isn't working, try connecting in the 2 card or single card versions.

Nvidia cards from the 6xx series and up support 4 monitors, 3 in surround with the 4th as an auxiliary.
