I have a dell inspirion 3537. the current bios version is A05. Should i update?
CPU: i7 4500u
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 8850m 2gb GDDR5
RAM: 8 GB
Motherboard: DELL 0PHTY0
Chipset: Intel Lynx Point-LP (Premium)

I have seen recommendations to only update BIOS if it addresses a specific problem that you have, but I don't agree with that. I ALWAYS update to have the current BIOS. BIOS is the "brain" of your system, telling everything what to do. Having the latest BIOS (to me anyway) only makes good sense.

With pre-built rigs if they issue a BIOS update, it's more than likely to correct a problem with the rig, you may not be encountering any at the moment, but never know when it might pop up .... also BIOS updates cover much more thatn the one or two things that are normally 'listed' most BIOS updates for example encompass numerous DRAM updates

Agreed. BIOS updates can solve problems that you aren't even aware that you have. Many times a performance gain can be achieved simply by updating the BIOS.
